Wire-free robot mowers without an RTK antenna: the verified list
Some links are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking, I may earn a commission. The price stays the same for you, and the order of the models does not depend on it. How this site is funded
The short version. 13 robot mowers in the database work without an RTK antenna according to their manufacturer, but in two different ways: 4 do without RTK entirely (LiDAR + vision, no network needed), 9 receive RTK corrections over the cellular network and need good 4G in the garden.
How I built the list
A model is on the list only if the manufacturer’s official page says no RTK antenna has to be installed (“No RTK installation”, “no need to install any local antenna”…). The link to that page is on each row. The Navimow i2 LiDAR models are not here: their page does not say so, even if it is likely.
The Navimow i105E and i108E are excluded for a good reason: their RTK antenna is mandatory. If that is what makes you hesitate, the Navimow i105E alternatives start from there.
Family 1: robot mowers without RTK at all (LiDAR + vision)
These mowers navigate with LiDAR (a laser measuring distances) and one or more cameras. They need neither an antenna nor 4G coverage to know where they are. They stay reliable under trees and near walls. The priciest of the family, the LUBA 3 AWD, has cheaper equivalents, covered in the Mammotion LUBA 3 alternatives.

Family 2: no antenna, RTK over the network
These models do use RTK correction, but receive it over the cellular network instead of an antenna in your garden: network RTK at Navimow, NetRTK at Mammotion, EPOS via the cloud at Husqvarna (which also accepts Wi-Fi). There is nothing to install and accuracy is to the centimetre under open sky, as long as network coverage is decent across the whole lawn, not just near the house. Navimow lets you check coverage by postcode. What these services cost over time is covered on the robot mower without subscription page.

RTK vs LiDAR robot mower: how to decide
- Open lawn, good 4G: family 2 is enough and starts lower (Navimow i205 AWD at €899).
- Trees, tall hedges, walls: family 1, or a model combining LiDAR and network RTK such as the LUBA 3 AWD 3000.
- Weak or no 4G at the far end of the garden: family 1 only.
For a mid-sized lawn, the robot mower for 500 m² and robot mower for 1000 m² pages cross this criterion with area; for a sloping lawn, the guide to robot mowers for steep slopes crosses it with slope. The two brands most represented here are compared in detail in Navimow vs Mammotion.
Test your garden
The quiz below is preset to “no antenna”. Tell it whether you have 4G in the garden: it will drop family 2 if not. The logic is in the methodology, and the full model list is in the wire-free robot mower comparison.

Safety margin applied: capacity ≥ area × 1.2. Models with an undisclosed slope are excluded as soon as a slope is entered.
FAQ
Which robot mower works without an RTK antenna or 4G?
Those that navigate by LiDAR and camera, without RTK: in the database, the Mammotion YUKA mini 2 1000, Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD 1500 and LUBA 3 AWD 1500, and the Dreame A2. The cheapest on 22 October 2026 is the YUKA mini 2 1000 at €1,099.
What is the difference between “no antenna” and “no RTK”?
A “no antenna” mower can still use RTK: it receives corrections over the cellular network (network RTK, NetRTK, EPOS cloud). It then needs good 4G or Wi-Fi coverage across the whole lawn. A “no RTK” mower navigates by LiDAR and vision and needs no network to position itself.
RTK or LiDAR: which is better?
Neither in absolute terms. RTK is very accurate under open sky but degrades under trees and near tall walls. LiDAR keeps its bearings in shade and at night. For a garden with trees, favour a model with LiDAR; for a large open lawn, network RTK works very well.
Why are the Navimow i2 LiDAR models not on the list?
Because the manufacturer page I checked does not clearly say no antenna is needed. It is probably the case given their LiDAR + vision navigation, but I only list what the manufacturer writes. They are still in the comparison.
